      <image:title>Gottman - Gottman Method Couples Therapy</image:title>
<image:caption>As a marriage and relationship counselor I use Gottman Method Couples Therapy. John Gottman is the foremost researcher around relationship issues. Years ago, when Gottman got started in the field everyone was looking into what was going wrong in marriage. Gottman decided to look at what makes marriage work. Over 40 years of research have gone into the techniques he and his wife Julie Swartz Gottman have created. I teach couples to communicate differently with these outcome-based techniques.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Annie King is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with the State of Ohio practicing in Chillicothe Ohio. Annie is certified in Telehealth and offers video sessions as well as in-person sessions. Annie has been providing care to individuals, adolescents and couples in Appalachia for more than a decade. She understands the challenges facing individuals and couples today and recognizes the need to connect with a nonjudgmental, unbiased professional. She provides a warm and caring, therapeutic environment where clients can move forward toward wholeness. Annie earned her bachelor’s degree in social work from Morehead State University. Her Social Work degree has given her the opportunity to work with many diverse populations. After taking some time off to raise her four children Annie received her Master of Arts in Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2007. Annie and her husband Kurt have been married over 35 years and enjoy working together as counselors. They have 4 pretty cool adult children who they love spending time with. Annie seeks to support all people and provide a caring safe environment. Being a mother of LGBTQ kids has enriched her life and expanded her heart.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Anne M. King is a clinically trained counselor who is a Christian. She integrates her faith into the different theories. Theorist, Carl Rogers emphasizes unconditional positive regard, while Albert Ellis seeks to understand the whole person. Annie uses an eclectic style of Cognitive Behavioral therapy. Unhealthy feelings are painful roadblocks which disrupt their daily lives. Annie believes if people can change the way they think they can change the way they feel.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Counseling - Pastoral Counseling</image:title>
<image:caption>Kurt King is a credentialed minister. He integrates his Christian faith and his theological understanding. He is aware of the board range of theological perspectives. People enter counseling with a story of what has gone wrong in their lives and they are unable to connect the dots between God and their broken world. Kurt listens for the God story and helps people discern their own view of God, the problem of evil, and/or Jesus Christ’s work of grace and forgiveness in their lives.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Pastoral Counselor Kurt King is a credentialed Elder in the United Methodist Church. He specializes in spiritual counseling, clarifying a client’s direction, prayer habits, financial budgeting, and accountability with men’s issues. Kurt has experience working with individuals who feel stuck in life or on their spiritual journey. Kurt says, “Spiritual movement happens when clients put into motion what they hear from God.” He knows what it looks like to have vital spiritual disciplines that strengthen a person’s faith in God and love for their neighbor. Also, he knows the challenge individuals experience when they are hurt by folks (family, friends, co-workers, church people), whether intentionally or unintentionally. Kurt provides a calming and tender presence with words of encouragement that express care and healthy challenge at the same time. Clients will leave their sessions with a greater clarity of their spiritual purpose and being valued as children of God. Kurt has served as a local pastor in Southern Ohio for over 34 years. Kurt and his wife, Annie, have been blessed to be relationship with a diverse group of individuals, city and country, urban and sub-urban, families and singles, baby boomers and millennials. Kurt earned his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management from Morehead State University (1985). Following college, he earned a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary (1991) and has served United Methodist churches from 1987 to 2021. He recently retired from being a local pastor, and now partners with Annie King Counseling where he works as the Administer and spiritual counselor for interested clients. Kurt has accumulated experience in the following areas: pre-marriage counseling and weddings, funerals and grief counseling, Myers-Briggs Personality Traits, and successful financial budgeting. (Kurt also loves talking about a person’s enneagram number.) He identifies closely as a “3.” Kurt is married to Annie and together they have 4 millennial children. Kurt and Annie learn quite a bit from them about what the future will look like through their eyes and views. Kurt began his journey with Jesus on July 2, 1980 and follows in his footsteps daily. He enjoys construction/remodeling work around the house and hiking with Annie on the many beautiful trails in southern Ohio.</image:caption>
